• That Maddie didn't immediately walk away, well, that wasn't a shock. She hurried to get us fresh drinks, including water, but only after standing there for a moment. She seemed to drink us in, both of us, much to my astonishment. I still had to adjust to that kind of scenario, one of a lusty young lass like her seemingly having the hots for me... and apparently my daughter, at once.
• We stared at each other for a little longer, no words left to say right then, and certainly no way to say things without altering our relationship in some way. We had said quite a bit as it was, so we silently ate and my stomach rumbled a little, but I kept eating, but switched to ginger ale instead of the cold brew at this point. I took an antacid, a chewable, and counted that as my likely dessert, since it had a sweet, if chalky flavor and texture.
• As quietly and efficiently as we both consumed our dinner, it wasn't much longer before Maddie was back, having drunk the extra cold brew that she had mistakenly given me (at my own insistence). It was almost an anticlimax, that meal, but then I paid the check and gave Maddie a very lavish tip for such a meal. She looked at me with such gratitude and delight, not to mention still showed me considerable desire. It was evident that she really did like me that way, quite sincerely.
